INTO THE BOX is a selection of images from the LEFT BEHIND series. I took these photographs at the abandoned Knight Foundry in Sutter Creek, California. They are my homage to Louise Nevelson (1899-1988), the “high priestess of assemblage”, whose art affected my development as an artist even before I actually saw it. I also have been guilty of collecting what others thought to be junk, with an ample opportunity presented by the wholesale demolition of the precious 19th century buildings in the center of Moscow back in the 1970s.
